Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Play it by Trust by Yoko Ono was sold in the First Open Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2012. The price achieved of USD 47,500.00 (€ 36,947.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yoko Ono - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Play It By Trust, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 116,500.00 (€ 94,187.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Play it by Trust von Yoko Ono wurde im September 2012 in der Auktion First Open Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 36.947,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Yoko Ono mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Play It By Trust beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für USD 116.500,00 (€ 94.187,08) versteigert wurde.
