Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Sheep on the mountains, Loch Tay by William R. C. Watson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,219.92) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Other works by William R. C. Watson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2008 the work Sheep grazing by a loch was auctioned for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sheep on the mountains, Loch Tay von William R. C. Watson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.640,00 (€ 9.219,92) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von William R. C. Watson konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2008 die Arbeit Sheep grazing by a loch für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.153,11) versteigert.
