Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Morning by the lochside - Loch Lyon, Perthshire by William R. C. Watson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,626.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William R. C. Watson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheep grazing by a loch in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Morning by the lochside - Loch Lyon, Perthshire von William R. C. Watson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.626,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William R. C. Watson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sheep grazing by a loch im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.153,11).
