In March 2014 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work "When The Morning Sun Dispels The Mist", Glen Finart, Argyleshire by William R. C. Watson. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,631.05), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William R. C. Watson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep grazing by a loch, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im März 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit "When The Morning Sun Dispels The Mist", Glen Finart, Argyleshire von William R. C. Watson zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.631,05) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William R. C. Watson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sheep grazing by a loch beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.153,11) versteigert wurde.
