Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Morning On The Cliffs Of Cornwall by William R. C. Watson. The price achieved of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,998.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William R. C. Watson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep grazing by a loch, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11).

Watson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.998,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William R. C. Watson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sheep grazing by a loch beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.153,11) versteigert wurde.
