Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Morning In Bidston by William R. C. Watson was sold in the British and Victorian Pictures auction at Christies in London in May 2006. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,627.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by William R. C. Watson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheep grazing by a loch in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Morning In Bidston von William R. C. Watson wurde im Mai 2006 in der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.627,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William R. C. Watson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sheep grazing by a loch im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.153,11).
