Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale, which included the work Evening, Loch Eilt, Inverness-Shire by William R. C. Watson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,316.30), 20% above the upper estimate. Other works by William R. C. Watson have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11) in October 2008 for the work Sheep grazing by a loch.
