In February 2007 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Reclining Figure) by William Theophilus Brown. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,800.00 (€ 3,628.12), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Theophilus Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Still Life With Lemon) in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 35,533.39).

Im Februar 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Reclining Figure) von William Theophilus Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.800,00 (€ 3.628,12) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Theophilus Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Still Life With Lemon) im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 35.533,39).
