Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Drawing Session at Mark Chester, 1992 by William Theophilus Brown for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,632.10). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Theophilus Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Still Life With Lemon) in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 35,533.39).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Theophilus Brown erzielen.
