This artwork by William Theophilus Brown achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June 2020. In the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction, the work Untitled, 1971 sold for USD 4,450.00 (€ 3,962.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by William Theophilus Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Still Life With Lemon) in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 35,533.39).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Theophilus Brown erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled, 1971 für USD 4.450,00 (€ 3.962,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Theophilus Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Still Life With Lemon) im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 35.533,39).
