In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work The Lagoon sold for USD 40,000.00 (€ 30,606.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Theophilus Brown; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Still Life With Lemon) sold at auction in May 2006 with the realized price of USD 45,600.00 (€ 35,533.39).
