Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Drunk Cop; Don'T Take Me For Dumber Two Works by William S. Burroughs. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,190.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William S. Burroughs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dezember 1955, which sold at auction in February 2021 for EUR 22,500.00.
