Sold at the lower estimate price
In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included this untitled work by William S. Burroughs. The result of USD 500.00 (€ 390.50) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William S. Burroughs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dezember 1955 in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 22,500.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von William S. Burroughs zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 500,00 (€ 390,50) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William S. Burroughs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dezember 1955 im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 22.500,00.
