Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 1-2-3 by William S. Burroughs was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2011. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,717.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by William S. Burroughs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dezember 1955 in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 22,500.00.

Die Arbeit 1-2-3 von William S. Burroughs kam im September 2011 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.717,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William S. Burroughs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dezember 1955 im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 22.500,00.
