Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by William Baziotes was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2019. The price achieved of USD 350,000.00 (€ 317,633.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Baziotes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Phantasm, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 1,332,500.00 (€ 1,119,936.12).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von William Baziotes kam im November 2019 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 317.633,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Baziotes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Phantasm beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 1.332.500,00 (€ 1.119.936,12) versteigert wurde.
