Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Indolence by William Baziotes was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 56,700.00 (€ 52,152.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Baziotes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Phantasm in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 1,332,500.00 (€ 1,119,936.12).

Die Arbeit Indolence von William Baziotes kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 52.152,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Baziotes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Phantasm im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.332.500,00 (€ 1.119.936,12).
