Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tea on the Porch by Willard Leroy Metcalf was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2007. It changed hands for a price of USD 55,000.00 (€ 37,445.53) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willard Leroy Metcalf achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work October Festival in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 545,000.00 (€ 399,560.12).

Die Arbeit Tea on the Porch von Willard Leroy Metcalf kam im November 2007 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 55.000,00 (€ 37.445,53) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willard Leroy Metcalf erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit October Festival im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 545.000,00 (€ 399.560,12).
