Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sandy Hollow, Manchester, Massachusetts by Willard Leroy Metcalf was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2018. The price achieved of USD 56,250.00 (€ 48,200.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willard Leroy Metcalf have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work October Festival in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 545,000.00 (€ 399,560.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sandy Hollow, Manchester, Massachusetts von Willard Leroy Metcalf kam im Mai 2018 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 48.200,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willard Leroy Metcalf auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit October Festival im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 545.000,00 (€ 399.560,12).
