This work of art by Willard Leroy Metcalf could be acquired at Christies in New York in November 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work The Young Moon changed hands for USD 365,000.00 (€ 345,578.49) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Other works by Willard Leroy Metcalf have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2014 by the work October Festival at USD 545,000.00 (€ 399,560.12).
