The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 348,500.00 (€ 310,163.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Willard Leroy Metcalf have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2014 the work October Festival was auctioned for USD 545,000.00 (€ 399,560.12).
