In November 2015 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Oat Field, Giverny by Willard Leroy Metcalf. The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 47,339.52) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willard Leroy Metcalf have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work October Festival in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 545,000.00 (€ 399,560.12).

Im November 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oat Field, Giverny von Willard Leroy Metcalf zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 47.339,52) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willard Leroy Metcalf auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit October Festival im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 545.000,00 (€ 399.560,12).
