Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled #21 by Will Mentor was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,063.00 (€ 3,160.39). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Will Mentor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Don Giovanni Moments After Killing The Commandant, Second Performance, which sold at auction in July 2019 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,861.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled #21 von Will Mentor im September 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.063,00 (€ 3.160,39) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Will Mentor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Don Giovanni Moments After Killing The Commandant, Second Performance beobachtet, die im Juli 2019 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.861,64) versteigert wurde.
