Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Will Mentor was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 125.00 (€ 112.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Will Mentor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Don Giovanni Moments After Killing The Commandant, Second Performance in July 2019 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,861.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Will Mentor im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 125,00 (€ 112,06) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Will Mentor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Don Giovanni Moments After Killing The Commandant, Second Performance im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.861,64).
