Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mercy Seat Iii by Will Boone was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,881.28). Admittedly, works by Will Boone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work ICE in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 73,736.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mercy Seat Iii von Will Boone im März 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.881,28) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Will Boone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ICE im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 73.736,27).
