Upper estimate price exceeded by 53 %.
In September 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Red Playing Games I by Wilhelmina Barns-Graham. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,530.00 (€ 1,780.18), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilhelmina Barns-Graham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Glacier (Bone) in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 125,364.55).
