Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Wang Xingwei could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the 21st Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Untitled (Penguin and Hole) changed hands for HKD 480,000.00 (€ 57,521.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 600,000.00 – 900,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Xingwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blind in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 9,400,000.00 (€ 967,757.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Xingwei konnte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Penguin and Hole) für HKD 480.000,00 (€ 57.521,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 900.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Xingwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blind im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.400.000,00 (€ 967.757,38).
