Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wang Xingwei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. In the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Untitled (Palette) sold for HKD 2,142,000.00 (€ 256,742.44) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Xingwei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blind, which sold at auction in October 2014 for HKD 9,400,000.00 (€ 967,757.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Xingwei erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Palette) für HKD 2.142.000,00 (€ 256.742,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 800.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Xingwei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blind beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für HKD 9.400.000,00 (€ 967.757,38) versteigert wurde.
