Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Swadeshi-cide (Indigenous) by Walton Ford was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April last year. The price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,957.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walton Ford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bitter Gulfs in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,445,000.00 (€ 1,059,384.16).
