Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Theodulgletscher II by Walter Niedermayr. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,431.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Niedermayr - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ghiacciaio Della Marmolada II - 1995, which sold at auction in October 2017 for EUR 23,400.00.

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juli 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Theodulgletscher II von Walter Niedermayr zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.431,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Niedermayr mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ghiacciaio Della Marmolada II - 1995 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für EUR 23.400,00 versteigert wurde.
