Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Nigardsbreen I / Civil Operations, 2003 by Walter Niedermayr was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 500.00 (€ 560.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Niedermayr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ghiacciaio Della Marmolada II - 1995 in October 2017 with an auction result of EUR 23,400.00.
