The work 1923 III by Walter Dexel was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale auction at Christies in London in March this year. It achieved a price of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 45,871.79), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 61%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Dexel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Segelschiff I in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 671,250.00 (€ 777,980.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 61 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit 1923 III von Walter Dexel wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 45.871,79) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 61%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Dexel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Segelschiff I im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 671.250,00 (€ 777.980,27).
