In March 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Mumtaz by Walter Darby Bannard. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,594.88), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Darby Bannard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alby's Burgundy, which sold at auction in December 2017 for USD 31,250.00 (€ 25,994.01).

Im März 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mumtaz von Walter Darby Bannard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.594,88) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Darby Bannard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Alby's Burgundy beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für USD 31.250,00 (€ 25.994,01) versteigert wurde.
