In December 2014 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Interiors, which included the work Celtine by Walter Darby Bannard. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,925.30), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Walter Darby Bannard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alby's Burgundy in December 2017 with an auction result of USD 31,250.00 (€ 25,994.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Celtine von Walter Darby Bannard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.925,30) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Darby Bannard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alby's Burgundy im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 25.994,01).
