This artwork by Wallace Berman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. In the Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery auction, the work Untitled (Self-Portrait) sold for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,929.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wallace Berman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Radio/Aether, 1966 in September last year with an auction result of USD 164,175.00 (€ 167,816.62).

In der Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Self-Portrait) für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.929,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wallace Berman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Radio/Aether, 1966 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 164.175,00 (€ 167.816,62).
