Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell, which included the work Self-Portrait As Xantos by Wallace Berman. The price achieved of EUR 3,528.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wallace Berman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Radio/Aether, 1966 in September last year with an auction result of USD 164,175.00 (€ 167,816.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-Portrait As Xantos von Wallace Berman zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.528,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wallace Berman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Radio/Aether, 1966 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 164.175,00 (€ 167.816,62).
