Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tracey Moffatt could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Self-Portrait #1 changed hands for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,991.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tracey Moffatt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Something More in August 2004 with an auction result of AUD 227,050.00 (€ 131,779.57).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tracey Moffatt konnte im September 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wechselte die Arbeit Self-Portrait #1 für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.991,05) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tracey Moffatt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Something More im August 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 227.050,00 (€ 131.779,57).
