A top price for Tracey Moffatt - as previously expected
In August 2004 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Something More by Tracey Moffatt. The price achieved of AUD 227,050.00 (€ 131,779.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Something More is the most expensive artwork by Tracey Moffatt that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im August 2004 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Something More von Tracey Moffatt zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 227.050,00 (€ 131.779,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Something More das teuerste Kunstwerk von Tracey Moffatt, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
