Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Birmingham (right) by Toyin Ojih Odutola was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2019. The price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,861.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Toyin Ojih Odutola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Through Line in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 2,198,000.00 (€ 1,947,373.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Birmingham (right) von Toyin Ojih Odutola kam im Juli 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.861,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Toyin Ojih Odutola erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Through Line im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.198.000,00 (€ 1.947.373,08).
