Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Last Dance at the Annual County Gala by Toyin Ojih Odutola was sold in the 21st Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 604,800.00 (€ 585,876.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Toyin Ojih Odutola - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Through Line, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 2,198,000.00 (€ 1,947,373.08).

Die Arbeit Last Dance at the Annual County Gala von Toyin Ojih Odutola wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 604.800,00 (€ 585.876,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
