Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work The Treatment 31 by Toyin Ojih Odutola. The price achieved of USD 30,480.00 (€ 28,608.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Toyin Ojih Odutola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Through Line in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 2,198,000.00 (€ 1,947,373.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Treatment 31 von Toyin Ojih Odutola zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 30.480,00 (€ 28.608,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Toyin Ojih Odutola erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Through Line im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.198.000,00 (€ 1.947.373,08).
