Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Eastern Entrance by Toyin Ojih Odutola. It changed hands for a price of HKD 6,467,000.00 (€ 692,393.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 4,500,000.00 – 6,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Toyin Ojih Odutola - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Through Line, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 2,198,000.00 (€ 1,947,373.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eastern Entrance von Toyin Ojih Odutola zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 6.467.000,00 (€ 692.393,68) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 4.500.000,00 – 6.500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Toyin Ojih Odutola mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Through Line beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 2.198.000,00 (€ 1.947.373,08) versteigert wurde.
