Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gokita Tomoo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Freeze sold for USD 187,500.00 (€ 159,669.59) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gokita Tomoo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Be Just Like Family in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,076,000.00 (€ 965,108.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gokita Tomoo erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wurde die Arbeit Freeze für USD 187.500,00 (€ 159.669,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gokita Tomoo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Be Just Like Family im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.076.000,00 (€ 965.108,98).
