Sold at the upper estimate price
In September 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition, which included the work Dante's Inferno by Tom Phillips. The auction ended at the price of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,539.58), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Phillips achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Berlin Wall with German Grass and Skies II in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,852.22).
