Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in London held the auction Outside In: The Dr. Jeffrey Sherwin Collection, which included the work Dante by Tom Phillips. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,577.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tom Phillips have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Berlin Wall with German Grass and Skies II in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,852.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Outside In: The Dr. Jeffrey Sherwin Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dante von Tom Phillips zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.577,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tom Phillips auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Berlin Wall with German Grass and Skies II im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.852,22).
