Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dante's Inferno by Tom Phillips was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,280.00 (€ 1,280.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Phillips achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Berlin Wall with German Grass and Skies II in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,852.22).
