The work Untitled (Cowboy) by Tom of Finland was sold in the SEX Theme Sale auction at Phillips in London in March 2010. It achieved a price of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,227.27), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom of Finland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled [Twelve Works|AID701324] in May last year with an auction result of USD 289,800.00 (€ 270,058.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Cowboy) von Tom of Finland wurde im März 2010 in der Auktion SEX Theme Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.227,27) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom of Finland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled [Twelve Works|AID701324] im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 289.800,00 (€ 270.058,71).
