Upper estimate price exceeded by 35 %.
In March 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw”, which included the work Untitled (Dollar Print, Back) by Tom Friedman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,594.88), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Friedman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 856,000.00 (€ 645,501.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Dollar Print, Back) von Tom Friedman zur Versteigerung kam.
