Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Misfit (Flamingo) by Thomas Grünfeld for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,252.50). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Part II at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Thomas Grünfeld have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Misfit (Cow) in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 44,649.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2009 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Misfit (Flamingo) von Thomas Grünfeld für USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.252,50) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Part II bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Grünfeld auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Misfit (Cow) im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.070,00 (€ 44.649,28).
