Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
This work without title by Thomas Downing was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 44,450.00 (€ 41,721.42). Admittedly, works by Thomas Downing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blue Tender in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 179,388.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Thomas Downing kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 44.450,00 (€ 41.721,42) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Downing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blue Tender im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 179.388,29).
