Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Run by Thomas Downing was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in New York in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 73,455.00 (€ 68,451.22), 22% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Downing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blue Tender, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 200,000.00 (€ 179,388.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Run von Thomas Downing wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 73.455,00 (€ 68.451,22) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Downing mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blue Tender beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 200.000,00 (€ 179.388,29) versteigert wurde.
